With the words "You're too big and too warm. Go lie down in your own bed," the boy throws his teddy out and so begins an odyssey of cuddly toys. Each one tries to stay in the other's bed with a different excuse - but is mercilessly chased away to make room for its owner. Only the last one in the chain doesn't have its own bed and wanders sadly from bed to bed until it finally finds a place beaming with joy - in the boy's bed.
