Description
Have you browsed Jawoll Baby's Etsy shop but couldn't find the right color or size?
No problem! Together we will find the perfect balaclava for you and your child.
The hat is double-layered and therefore reversible without visible seams, so that both colors can be worn alternately.
It is best to measure your child's head circumference with a tape measure above the ears for the perfect fit and choose the size accordingly.
Select your required size in the dropdown and write me your desired color(s) in the personalization requests.
I prefer to use sweaters made of a cashmere-silk blend because they are cozy and warm, but the double layer means they are not too thick.
I always have a wide selection of colors in stock and can often show you several suggestions.
If you don't find what you're looking for, I can easily cancel your order and we can try again at a later date.
Since I do upcycling with damaged sweaters, each sweater is only available once, so you get a completely unique piece in the end.
About the balaclavas themselves:
The hats completely cover your child's head, ears, neck and shoulder area. This means that no cold can penetrate, even if you are outside for a long time.
It consists of two layers - on the one hand, this has the advantage that you get the hat in two reversible colors, making it even more versatile to combine. On the other hand, the two layers of wool form a double heat buffer and also protect against the wind.
The damaged sweaters that I use for the hats are made of cashmere, silk-cashmere or soft wool and are therefore super soft and comfortable to wear. The skin on the neck and chin is particularly sensitive and the selected materials do not scratch.
On the contrary: you just want to snuggle up in it.
Despite the two layers, the hats are thin enough to fit under a bicycle helmet. This means your child will be warm all over when cycling home from daycare, on a balance bike or on a sled.
The material is so stretchy that the balaclava will fit for a long time (depending on the size), even over several winters.
Wool is a wonderful natural material: it regulates temperature, is breathable, dirt-repellent and odor-resistant. These are all properties that make wool an ideal material for baby and children's clothing.
However, breeding sheep for wool production is harmful to the climate and involves animal suffering.
A sustainable alternative is the use of existing resources: Jawoll Baby gives damaged wool sweaters a new life and makes the valuable resource wool usable again.
The orange thread from Jawoll Baby: Wool is biodegradable - polyester yarn is not. When the textile's usage cycle is over, you can see at a glance through the orange seams where you can separate the thread and wool and thus enable recycling. Only separated materials can be recycled in the household waste.
For any small holes that may appear during use, I will include a piece of the original fabric with your order. This way you can repair your favorite piece and use it for a long time.
Washing and care instructions are included with your order.
