Description
The larger a lion's mane, the more fearsome it is to intruders from whom it is defending its territory. Lions are also the only ones who hunt together in a pack - although this task is usually left to the lionesses. Since they are not particularly fast, unlike the cheetah, they use their strength as a pack. They stalk from different directions, surround their prey and use the element of surprise. This allows them to kill large ungulates such as zebras and wildebeests, as well as buffalo and weak elephants.
